Meet a Grad Interview
What is your name? Yasmin
Give a little background history of yourself.
I am from Spain. I started seriously working out 10 years ago. My favorite type of working out is weight lifting. I worked in a gym in Spain as a weight room monitor and I liked it. That is when I realized I wanted to be a personal trainer.
What made you decide to pursue this area of study (i.e. Personal Fitness Training)?
I wanted to specialized in personal trainer and have a better knowledge of exercise training after I received my Sport Technician certificate in Spain (so that I can be a more knowledgeable professional).
What made you to decide to pursue this interest in the Personal Fitness Trainer program at ACC?
Most Universities did not offer the specific program that I was looking for. ACC offered it and it just as good as if I were in an University program (in my opinion).
What was the hardest part of the program?
The hardest part of the program was some specific subjects were you need to study a bit more and not missing the explanations and theory of some classes that have both theory and practice.
What was the best/most beneficial part of the program?
When I finally got to train a client.
Are you currently employed as a Personal Fitness Trainer? If so, at what capacity? If not, why not?
I am not currently employed as a Personal Fitness Trainer cause I am in the process of getting my US residency in order to work legally, therefore no, I am not currently working because I am still an International Student.
If you had a single piece of advice for someone interested in being a Personal Fitness Trainer, what would it be?
Do not miss a class and enjoy the program. Do not give up!
