The Department sets high expectations for our students. Some general expectations include:<\/p>\n It is the responsibility of the student<\/strong> to obtain information presented in class and\/or assignments made when the student is absent.<\/p>\n Each student is expected to take tests<\/strong> as scheduled. Individual instructors differ in their rules for missed tests and if they allow make-up exams.<\/p>\n A grade of \u2018C\u2019<\/strong> is required is required in all courses.<\/p>\n"},{"title":"Internship Expectations","description":" Each degree and certificate plan requires two Internships<\/strong>.\u00a0 These are placements in appropriate social service agencies<\/p>\n Students must apply<\/strong> for Internship the semester before<\/strong> they would like to enroll.<\/p>\n Approval is given if the student:<\/p>\n Students are required to get their own transportation<\/strong> to travel to sites off campus.<\/strong><\/p>\n Students are at their sites 160 hours\/semester<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Internships are rarely paid<\/strong>, but students are expected to follow all workplace rules<\/strong> including dress code, grooming, scheduling and HIPAA confidentiality.<\/p>\n"},{"title":"Self-Care and Wellness","description":" Many students are drawn to the Human Services major because of personal life experiences<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Our students often trigger deep emotional issues during some coursework.
