Emily Anderson is a Professor in the Department of ASL and Interpreter Training at Austin Community College and has been teaching in the department since the fall of 2004.She has interpreted professionally since 1998 and holds level III Interpreter Certification from the Texas Board for Evaluation of Interpreters and a Doctorate in Deaf Studies from Lamar University.  Her doctoral dissertation focused on how interpreters represent the English discourse marker ‘but’ in English to ASL interpretations.
